Rostova, trained by Steve Richards, won her first Group 1 race in the 2010 Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) at the Morphettville Racecourse on Saturday.

As the seventh race of the day, the filly took out the 18-horse field from the 15^th barrier, winning by three-quarters of a length.

Finishing second was the favourite going into the race – Velocitea. The Mick Price-trained mare beat Sister Madly, who took third spot, by a long neck.

Elsewhere in the field for the Robert Sangster Stakes, other favourites for the race were Headway and Majestic Music, the two finished 14^th and 10^th respectively.

Next on Rostova’s agenda is mostly likely going to be the Group 1 The Galaxy (1100m) on the 17^th of April in the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.

Also taking place on Saturday at the Morphettville Racecourse was the Group 1 Schweppes Australasian Oaks (2000m) and the Group 3 Jansz National Stakes (1200m).
