The 2011 Robert Sangster Stakes will take place this Saturday March 26, 2011, at Morphettville as one of two Group 1 races being run on the day.

The final field for the $350,000 race has been released today and shows that 13 of Australia’s best horses will be lining up for one of the most exciting fillies and mares races on the horse racing calendar.

The 1,200 metre Robert Sangster Stakes final field includes the extremely talented Avenue.

Avenue has won eight of her 18 career starts, including her last run in the Group 3 Irwin Stakes last start.

The four-year-old Peter Moody-trained mare will jump from barrier 12 in the race and will be ridden by jockey Luke Nolen.

Amongst the 2011 Robert Sangster Stakes final field is Peter Snowden’s Beaded, who put in a gallant run last start to finish third in the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap.

This will be the five-year-old mare’s third race this preparation, with Beaded winning her first-up performance in the Group 3 Hyderabad R.C. Stakes on February 12, 2011.
