Black Caviar Is Stand Out 2012 Robert Sangster Stakes Nomination

April 23rd, 2012

Nominations have been released for the 2012 Robert Sangster Stakes, which is due to run at Morphettville Racecourse this Saturday April 28, 2012.

A total of 26 horses have nominated to take on the great Black Caviar as she attempts to post her 20th straight win this weekend.

Black Caviar has been spelled since her last win in the Group 1 Lightning Stakes at Flemington on February 18, 2011 and will be having her first of two starts in Adelaide this weekend.

The mare is also likely to compete in the Group 1 The Goodwood at Morphettville on May 12, 2012, before travelling to England to run in the Grade 1 Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot in June.

Trainer Peter Moody is confident of Black Caviar ahead of her 20th race start.

”I’m very happy with where she is at, she is ready to kick off again,” Moody said.

”She will more than likely have two runs in Adelaide. We’ll see how she comes up on the back of the first run.
”I’ve never been one to say she is 70, 80, 90 per cent right but she had a nice blow after the jump-out on Tuesday.

“It suggests to me two runs are certainly appropriate before going to England.
”She wasn’t ready for Sydney, Adelaide was the most sensible option.

”It has worked out well for the racing industry over there.”
Amongst Black Caviar’s competitors are Curtana, Kulgrinda, Lone Rock and Valentine Miss.
