I Love It Ready for 2016 Robert Sangster Stakes

May 4th, 2016

John Salanitri is thrilled with the returning condition of stable star I Love It, and is confident the classy mare is a legitimate chance of success in Saturday’s Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville Racecourse.

I Love It has been a strong and consistent performer for Salanitri through her entire career since first appearing on course in 2013; posting a commendable five wins and four minors through a total of sixteen competitive starts.

Having trialled well in the lead-up to her competitive return, Salanitri told Racing Ahead he cannot fault the five-year-old and is confident that with luck, she can be right in the finish of the 2016 Robert Sangster Stakes.

“She’s very good, I’m very happy with her,” Salanitri said.

“She trialled really well, has been working well and eating well and is as bright as a button.

“She’s as woolly as a bear but I would advise that shouldn’t pout people off. I’m going into the race really happy with her.

“She’s drawn a good gate in barrier 5. She’s another horse who is a fresh horse and I can’t fault her – she’s probably going the best of all my runners of late.

“If she gets the luck, hopefully she’s good enough on the day.”

Returning to racing in 2015 for success in the Group 3 Bow Mistress Stakes (1200m) in Tasmania, I Love It returned to the mainland for a close second behind Griante in the Group 3 Wenona Girl Quality (1200m) before running third in the Robert Sangster Stakes.

Returning to the paddock after failing to fire and ninth in the Group 3 Proud Miss Stakes (1200m) in late May, the daughter of Artie Schiller returned in spring for fifth in the Group 2 Schillaci Stakes (1100m); progressing to fourth in the Listed Alinghi Stakes (1100m) before ending her year a credible sixth in the Group 3 Mumm Stakes (1100m).

Resuming in February for second in the Bow Mistress Stakes, I Love It has not been seen at the races since taking out the Group 3 Vamos Stakes (1400m) at Launceston on February 21st.

Ladbrokes.com.au is currently offering the best 2016 Robert Sangster Stakes odds, for which I Love It can be taken at a quote of $17 for success.
